As we engage in praying in tongues, we must be prepared to face opposition. This opposition primarily arises from within ourselves, from our own fleshly desires and tendencies. When we yield to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to work in us, He begins to address the deep-seated issues within us before dealing with external circumstances. This process can be uncomfortable and challenging, as it requires us to confront and let go of ungodly attributes that we have been suppressing or hoarding.
The Holy Spirit's intention is not for us to continue suppressing these ungodly attributes, but rather to bring them to the surface so that they can be permanently removed from our lives. It is a process of purification and transformation. However, when these hidden aspects of our lives are exposed, many people tend to retreat back into temptation. The temptation to hold onto familiar patterns and behaviours can be strong, but we must resist it.
Instead, we need to yield to the power of the Holy Spirit, who desires to purge these ungodly attributes from our lives once and for all. It is not enough to simply suppress them; we are called to overcome them. The Holy Spirit has equipped us with everything we need to walk in victory and experience true transformation.
As we engage in praying in tongues, we should not be surprised when our hidden issues start to surface. It is a sign that the Holy Spirit is at work, bringing these areas to our attention so that we can deal with them. It may be uncomfortable and challenging, but it is a necessary part of our spiritual growth and development.
In these moments, we must rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to help us overcome. We can lean on His strength, His wisdom, and His guidance. Through prayer, we can surrender these ungodly attributes to Him, allowing Him to cleanse and purify us from within. Remember, the opposition we face is not insurmountable. The Holy Spirit is with us, empowering us to overcome every obstacle and temptation. As we continue to pray in tongues and yield to His transformative work, we will experience a deeper level of freedom and victory in our lives.
So, embrace the process of purification and transformation that comes with praying in tongues. Allow the Holy Spirit to bring to the surface anything that needs to be dealt with, and trust in His power to help you overcome. Through this journey, you will experience a greater level of spiritual growth, freedom, and alignment with God's will for your life.
